Hiya,

The Wrangler is back in town.

Accessible from: Either post/reply screen or on the very top/right Navigation.
Also try to hit ALT-W at the post screen.

Besides it's fully rewritten and therefore now prolly more buggy than before, there are also some new features worth a look:

- Look and feel now fits to the Board
- Lot faster generation of the BB Codes to copy/paste (no waiting time now)
- Less bulky results
- Links are "url-spoofing-proof" now - Only the actual author can 'share' an image.
- Uploads are updateable! If you put a new image/file over the old one all posts which contain the image-codes will be updated too.
This can be achieved by using the 'Edit' button and then simply replace the file.
- Some tweaks to secure the server + save bandwidth.
- Delete now really deletes a file

Of course all the old images got updated/imported aswell.

So what's the buggy part now?

- Not really tested.
- HCC Order upload is disabled atm (very soon back!)
- The accessrights are maybe not 100% working - chance is you might see an image from someone else.
- The convertor script between v1 and v2 worked for all my files, however can't test yours ofcourse.
- Speed isn't best atm - but you know the drill from the board upgrade complain and I'll have it sorted in a couple of days
- Gallery on Frontpage is (still) not back in action.
- Click on the image on the left doesn't open a popup yet to a bigger preview.
- Upload Handling of non Image files is very strict atm, I just tested couple of filetypes, more to come over time.
- On Mozilla the layout doesn't look correct yet.


Don't use it for real atm - Chance is I'll rollback to the backup this Morning.
But feel free to play around.

Please note that images in posts outside this board won't work anymore (atm they still do, but once the server-cache gets cleared they go poof).

Also make sure you disable any popupblockers for this site - otherwise your already written post will get truncated at the first time opening the wrangler (note: only with windows xp sp-2)

Arcat can the wrangler, still be used to post images for showing in other forums, such as Community forums?

The Code generator now also adds a special link for remote linking (for example at other boards).



Please do not use this option locally here.

Chance is however that the target site doesn't support 'dynamic images'
If you see such an error message there is nothing you or I can do. In this case please use some public image-hosting service.

I'm monitoring the bandwidth since a couple of weeks, if something stresses the server I will remain the right to delete images.

No Bad feelings tho please.
You know how badly the board here can slow down hehe


Addionally there's ~ every other month some cleanup-script which removes abandoned files + unused resizes.
Remote images can ofcourse not be checked.
Again, if you need a guaranteed hosting, please consider some public server.

Wrangler made it to v2.2 final tonite

Major:

- Added Gallery to the Frontpage.
- Fullsize Image when clicking on the Picture on the Left.


Minor:

- Popupwindow is resizeable now.
- Applied some Mozilla tweaks.
- Improved speed, (mainly due the broken SDK).
Also the Database got recompiled yesterday, Forum performance should be better now too.
- Added a few more filetypes.
If you see an warning message yelling: 'Cannot wrangle this type of file.' - just copy/paste the Info you see there into a PM.
