The Long Awaited Plot Reclamation

What: Plot reclamation is the process by which we will reclaim plots from inactive accounts and auction them back to the active community.

Why: We are doing this because there are many plots that the community worked hard to build and now they lay unused or inaccessible. We want to give all of our active players a chance to claim a piece of Istaria and continue to build their community.

Who: As we have mentioned, plot reclamation will affect inactive accounts. Each account that owns a plot but has been inactive for more than thirty days will be sent an email. This email explains that they will have their plot(s) repossessed on a certain date, and that they will have until then to add an active subscription to their account. This will also affect those who had multiple subscriptions and plots, but now have fewer subscriptions than plots.

How: Each community across Istaria will be addressed one at a time on all shards. Once the plot has been reclaimed, it will be put up for auction to the community. Each auction will last for 3 days. We will announce which communities are coming up for auction with the date and time for the beginning of the auction on the community forums. The Message Of The Day for each shard will also include announcements pertinent to the auctions. All structures will be left intact and the plot will be sold exactly as it is seen now in the community. Bids can only be made if the bidding character is within the boundaries of the community where the plot is located.

PLEASE NOTE: Guild plots will be handled separately: We will be reclaiming primary guild plots that are associated with inactive accounts and then contact the guild in question to make arrangements for retaining guild property with the current and active guild leader.

When: The first of the auctions will begin on Friday, June 10th. An auction schedule will be posted soon.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We have already sent an email notice to the inactive owners of plots. If your account’s email address is not current then you will not receive our notice of reclamation. If you need assistance updating your email address, please contact us at support.istaria.com or support@istaria.com.

It will be interesting to travel around Istaria to see how many owned plots/active accounts we have on Unity after this change.

no indication whatsoever, whether this will reach unity anytime soon sad.gif

my guess: this takes manpower to do, not something GN has to throw around if you believe the people that subscribe.........

Guild plots will be handled after the actual Reclamation.

So our Ground stock will be around for a little longer biggrin.gif

how does this affect us? is our gh plot not properly owned? (by one of your alts on a different account?)
Arcat
Hiya,

- GH Plot is properly owned (Account of Servant)
- Pad Plot is properly owned (Account of Machina)

Affected is:
- 25x25 Plot next to the big tree with the Gazebo - owned byOoRTrialOne
- 25x25 Plot next to the GH (with the ground) - owned byOoRTrialTwo
- 25x40 Cilix (inactive account regarding to meta's info)

Unknown status:
- 25x40 Tyc
- 25x40 TycDragon

I'd love to await how the reclamation works in reality - then we should agree on rules - like long afk / missing members should put them on sale like NewAge did or similar. But maybe this isn't neccessary - auctionized plots are buyable by Guild only. We'll see smile.gif

But the guild plots used by inactive members certainly won't be available for public purchase ever, right? Would be really weird to have a guild town with unguilded people moving in.

As I get it we will lose the inactive guild plots, but only OoR folks can ever buy them. Please say that's the case. smile.gif
Arcat
Yes,

Guildplots are always guild property, unless a member gets expelled.
In the Kaze example he owns the plot now (even unguilded) but can't sell it to anyone except to us.

The guild of the person holding the masterplot is the official guild 'owning' the Town.
