I did upgrate to the latest Board Software today.
There are numerious improvements, however the update needs some manual care.

List of broken things:
- Many Links from Posts to other Posts are broken RESOLVED
- Image Wrangler doesn't return any images (affects this Board aswell as the (new) HCC Website) RESOLVED
- Frontpage is offline atm RESOLVED
- Wrangler Images in PM's will be broken (can't resolve, due to privacy)


Please note that the Board URL did change:

I'll spend some time now, fixing some things, please don't report Bugs or Errors yet.
I'm not fully done atm.

Erm.. I use a sdk (software dev kit) to read out news from the board database. However the SDK doesn't work with the latest release.

Just fixed the Wrangler, Frontpage is next..

So what's new at v2.1?

• New Post-Screen (less clutter, you can incrase/shrink the size of the textarea now by pressing + / -)
• New 'Assistant' - it's now a nifty small layer which hovers above the Board.
• No more '(Click here if you do not wish to wait )' !!
• RSS Section - 'Game News' is now integrated in the Forums, other Boards will automatically create new topics here - and they are discussable.
  ATM we don't syndicate any news yet.
• Quick Edit - when you need to edit a post of yours you can do this really quickly now.
• Enhanced Quickreply - At the bottom of the Topicview is (as before) a Quickreply Button, once opened (you can set in your prefs if you want to auto-open it) - mark any text with your mouse and it will get 'quoted'.
• Improved Speed
• Recently Read Topics in your Control Panel
• Inline Editing - if you got Moderator-Access (Monkee, Claws, NDA-Devs) you can rename Topics by holding down Mousebutton at the Topiclist.
  
  and much more... mostly tiny things.

Main reason for the upgrade tho was the rewamped Administrative Interface which looks awesome btw
aswell as performance improvements.


RSS Syndication
If you want to subscribe to the Guild News, there's a RSS button at the bottom.
RSS enabled browsers (firefox, safari) will automatically show the subscribe button.

To Do:

• Inventory Browser (just need to copy it over, but I'm too tired atm)
• Game News is empty

Guess that's it.

What has the board done to my sig??? I only changed the numbers for Jan's lvls.... now it seems to be rejecting the formatting I had before?

Looks like there's a bug with the software. I'll check it out. Don't touch your Sig yet. Will do couple of tests.

Regarding the Signatures:
There's a known bug in the update scripts from IBP not handling color-codes. The new color-system uses digits (#800080 is purple).
Previously colors were stored with their names (purple) in the Database.

So - please do not EDIT any older post OR signature which contains COLORS.
please wait till the patch arrives before editing old data. The same prolly is valid for Posts with font-sizes.

Sor: I did fix your Sig manually, please review if the layout is ok: The Admin Interface to edit User-Sigs is quite small, couldn't verify if there were any linebreaks anywhere.

- Board vendor ticket opened regarding the broken Colors/Fontssizes

Bump.

Today v2.1.1 got released and also made it to our site.
The Color / Fontsize Bug seems to be gone (there's new small issue now with strike-through,
but negligibly. Hotfix should do it.

Well enjoy, if you step into new problems, please post them here.

If you got problems opening Wrangler or can;t Logout/Login please goto Board Index and press 'F5' once.
This will ensure you get your Browser Cache refreshed (rightclick -> reload workds too).

Hiya,

Fixed a minor bug today regarding Cookies and Firefox.

If you use Firefox your current board session will be correctly loaded for Wrangler and Inventory Browser.
You should no longer receive an Errormessage saying: 'You need to be logged in..'.


Thx to Soresha for bumping into this one.


If you still get access denied messages please logout of the board and re-login.
It should create the proper cookies then, at my machine it worked without a relog.

Some new features and ~70 bugfixes.

With this update I also upgraded the database + some other server components.
This *might* will cause problems. We'll see. So far things look very good.

Our board software (Invision Power Board) has been updated to v2.1.5.

This is a bugfix release, taking care of ~ 50 issues.
(Maybe too) detailed changelog can be found here.

If you experience problems (and there were always at each update) feel free to PM frame or reply to this topic.

Please hit at least once CTRL-R / F5 anywhere (e.g. the Forum Index). This will ensure any possibly outdated cache-files will be reloaded.

Today I added a new theme to the forums, a darker one for folks like tramsan who uses a darkish Windows Theme and the site appeared way too bright.

You can switch between the default one and the dark theme at each page footer.


Since not all parts are skinnable (e.g. the plugins I wrote) some portions of our website will stick to the default theme: Wrangler, Chat, Invetory Browser the Home page and most Emoticons/Smilies render somewhat odd.

If there's some more freetime I'll add skinning support for those aswell.

Hiya,

Our Forum got updated to 2.1.6 last week and also recieved a couple of hotfixes since this.

Currently IPB (The forum software) in general seems to be target of some bored wanna-be-hackers and the number of break-in reports somewhat did increase at other forums.

I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of a few security things to keep in mind, so even if our board gets infiltrated, a simple database restore brings it back to life: "hacker gone, restore, no harm done".

• Avoid to store any game account information (login/pass) in your PMs or even Posts
• Don't use the very same password for all forums or community sites. If you got a hard time remember passwords a nice trick is to use the same pass but add some letter combination from the url to each password (e.g. PASSWORDrdk) - rdk would be reclamation.dk
• You can safely pick a longer password and keep signed in between sessions (e.g. pc reboot) - the password recovery options is always there to quickly send out an email in order to reset the password.
