Hi Folks,

QUOTE
Like the proverbial phoenix (dragon?) that continually rises from the ashes, Horizons: Empire of Istaria is poised to take flight once again. Purchased just over one year ago by EI Interactive, the game has languished with no updates, billing errors and poor community support until recently when Virtrium, LLC purchased Horizons and all remaining assets from Tulga Games. The players have been wondering, though: exactly who is Virtrium?

Hehe seems I found it the same time you did. That company page doesn't say much though.

Last night I was going through old Horizons screenies for an archive on my flickr account, and somehow ended up explaining what lairs were to a US Vanguard friend on MSN (he was seriously impressed). I told him it was a dead game. Life is strange sometimes!

If atari hasent pused it out of beta so early i think it have been a good game with ppl in it

If they have made the world dynamic like they wantet it to be but the mastermind behind the game engine left due to atari so the game was dead from the start of release...

If they bring the eu servers back with all as it was i pay for it just to support them but if David Bowman get somthing to say i dont pay for enything.

goodie =) Elspeth and Ariadne in DR have started playing again, on chaos shard nw but when euro shard get up we might see each other there.

And yes, David Bowman is a master at destroying games!

I wonder if the old database and char info is lost forever...
Bringing back a EU server is one thing. But having to start from scratch... no thanks.
If they worked enough on the game client to make it run smooth, some graphical enhancements, enhancements to the system overall... it might even be a nice thing to look at again.
But it would be no option for me, if I did not get back the stuff we worked so hard for... esp. Tavu... the plots.... everything...

I think they got enough work on their hands.
Setting up a new shard might take some time, merging probably even more.

Still, if Unity goes up after 1 year of downtime it would be nice. I doubt it tho.

Well, let's put it like this.... Where Unity formerly had absolutely zero chance of ever getting brought up again, it now has at least a snowball's chance in hell with this purchase. wink.gif
